Town Hall: Future of Fiscally Sponsored Artists and Arts Projects

Sunday, March 26, 2017, 6:00-8:30 p.m. at New York Live Arts (219 West 19th Street, NYC). Doors open at 5:30 pm.

Please visit Dance.NYC to register today please forward this invitation to fiscally sponsored artists and arts projects in your networks.

The town hall event is a key deliverable of a new artswide research and convening initiative made possible by leadership support from The New York Community Trust. The primary goal of the initiative is to ensure the fiscally sponsored arts community is included in cultural planning underway by the City of New York and the policies, programs, and budgetary allocations the plan may generate. The event will serve as an opportunity to release new survey research on the demographics, needs, and opportunities of approximately 3,000 local fiscally sponsored artists and arts projects and to drive collective action around the research findings.

This initiative builds on Dance/NYC’s Discovering Fiscally Sponsored Dance makers report and recent studies on workforce demographics of legally registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts and culture organizations led by Ithaka S+R, Dance/NYC, and DataArts. Dance/NYC is the project lead. Its nine fiscal sponsor partners, working across creative disciplines, are: Brooklyn Arts Council, The Center for Traditional Music and Dance, City Lore, The Field, Fractured Atlas, GOH Productions, New York Foundation for the Arts, New York Live Arts, and Pentacle.

March 26. Capacity is limited.
Please RSVP early to reserve your seat.
